THE PROBLEM

The process of ordering and renewing passports is tedious. Between confusion, lack of knowledge, unpreparedness, and long wait times, Americans often struggle with getting the necessary documents ready for their upcoming travels. In addition to the time component, passport ordering and renewing is a complex process that many people are not well informed in. People may submit incorrect information or remain unaware about just how long the process takes, causing them to wait too long for renewal ordering, and ultimately impact their travel plans.

"Some errors are caused because applicants are confused about the specific process they are supposed to follow, or the supporting documents they provide don't meet government specifications." (Gary Stoller, Forbes)

OBJECTIVE

EPassport is an app that will bring a whole new level of ease to this process. Push notifications will help users become better informed regarding when and how they need to renew. A virtual assistant will solve for confusion and misconceptions that have previously surrounded the process.

The assistant offers push notifications when your passport needs renewing and a step-by-step process for the information input..

DESIGN FICTION

Currently, the process of passport ordering and renewing is tedious. By 2030, The U.S. government has created EPassport. It is a new passport ordering service as well as a digital passport interface. We can support this design fiction through numerous faint signals and technological advancements seen today.

UNINECT

University networking app

appcoverstock_edited_edited.png

A college networking app meant to better assist students of any grade level in making connections within their campus.

Too often, many clubs and organizations go unnoticed simply because of a struggle to help students find them or hear or about them. This leads to many students missing out on great events, groups, and opportunities that otherwise would heavily interest them.

Uninect's goal is to remedy this issue and create a single unified, mobile space where students can not only organize all their organizations and events in one place, but discover other people and groups that also align with their interests, or just try something completely new!

JEREMY ZUCKER

Website Design

This website prototype for the American singer-songwriter, Jeremy Zucker in both desktop and mobile format is an artistic reflection of everything produced by Jeremy Zucker mainly between the years 2019-2020, as most of his productions out of these years abided by the same general aesthetic.

THE PROBLEM

Reclaim addresses the pervasive issue of wrongful incarceration and systemic failures in global justice systems. For decades, biases in trials, flawed evidence, racial discrimination, and inadequate legal representation have led to countless wrongful convictions. These injustices disproportionately affect marginalized communities, causing lasting harm not just to individuals, but also to their families and communities.

Despite recent advancements in forensic science and legal reform, the process of identifying and exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals remains slow and bureaucratic. Reclaim was developed to leverage AI and blockchain technology to systematically address these gaps—streamlining the exoneration process, offering transparency, and ensuring fair compensation and reintegration services for those affected.

"The US incarcerates more people than any other country in the world. There are currently two million people in prisons and jails in this country. Yet mass incarceration, for all the lives it touches, does not affect all lives equally.

These numbers reflect a system that arguably does not simply punish those who have committed crimes in proportion to their offenses. Rather, it reflects a deeply biased system that has created a crisis in this country." (Sandro Galea, BU School of Public Health)

OBJECTIVE

Reclaim is a decentralized, user-centered platform that allows individuals to submit evidence of wrongful convictions, engage with AI-powered legal reviews, and connect directly with advocacy groups and legal professionals. The platform operates on a global scale, analyzing historical legal data, trial records, and newly surfaced evidence through AI models that are unbiased and fully transparent.

Reclaim's interface offers clear, step-by-step instructions for the user to either submit an appeal regarding the detail of their trial or request a new trial by submitting new relevant evidence to their case file.

Evidence can either be submitted by the exonerated individual or by their public defender or private attorney. Then, the user receives clear feedback when their evidence has been received along with directions on what to do next.

DESIGN FICTION

In 2034, after years of wrongful incarcerations, biased trials, and systemic injustices leaving millions disenfranchised and imprisoned, Reclaim has been founded.   AI technology has been increasingly used in predictive policing and legal reviews. While AI has sometimes perpetuated biases, its potential for objective review, if applied ethically, could revolutionize the legal process by helping to identify patterns of wrongful convictions and judicial errors that human oversight may miss.
